Clubs, crews and lineups
Your club holds its member directory, equipment, courses and rowing schedule. You can belong to more than one club and switch between them in Blades. A crew is a team within the club. Organisers put a subset of the club’s members into a crew so they can view those members’ availability and plan their sessions together. A crew does not have to be a fixed set of seats in one boat. A lineup is a named arrangement of people and equipment within a crew. It can include boat seats, coaches and people without a seat assignment. Organisers can reuse a lineup when they create a session. From a lineup to a session
A session gives an arrangement a date, time and plan. Water sessions also have a course. When an organiser uses a saved lineup, Blades copies its assignments into the session. Later lineup changes do not change that session. An assignment connects a person to a session or lineup. It may also identify their equipment, seat or coaching role. Being in a crew alone does not put every crew session into your personal schedule. You need an assignment in that session.Availability and equipment
You record busy time when you cannot row. Organisers use it when choosing a session time. Assigned sessions also create busy time for their participants. Equipment, called a resource in forms, includes boats and other club equipment. A booking reserves one resource for a period. Sessions create bookings for the equipment they use; members can also make standalone bookings. A course is a saved rowing route with a name, location and distance. It is separate from the programme of study in your personal profile.Who can do what
These guides use club organiser to mean someone with the club admin or owner role.
The ability to coach, cox or row a particular side describes a member’s profile. It does not grant organiser permissions. Creating a new club requires a separate application admin permission.
