# Manage courses

> Save rowing routes and use their details in water sessions.

You need the club admin or owner role. A course is a saved rowing route with a name, location, distance and notes. Water sessions require a course; land sessions do not.

## Create a course

1. Open **Courses** in the sidebar.
2. Select **Create course**.
3. Enter a name, location and distance in kilometres. Add notes that help organisers recognise or use the route.
4. Select **Create**. The course appears in the list and in the course selector for water sessions.

Choose names that distinguish similar routes. Put session-specific exercises and instructions in the session's outing plan.

## Find and edit a course

Use the course list's search and column controls to find the route. Open its edit action, change the relevant fields and save.

When you select a course for a session, Blades copies its name, location and distance into the session. Editing the saved course does not rewrite those details in sessions already created. Review affected future sessions separately if a route changes.

## Delete a course

Use the course row's delete action and confirm the deletion. The course will no longer be available for new selections. Existing sessions retain their copied course details.

Next, [plan a water session](/organisers/sessions#create-a-session) using a course and your crew's assignments.
