# Set your availability

> Mark busy time, add repeating commitments and change individual occurrences.

Use **Availability** to record the times when you cannot row. Your organisers use these busy blocks when planning sessions. Keep them up to date when your timetable changes.

## Add busy time on the calendar

1. Open **Availability** in the sidebar and navigate to the week you want.
2. Drag across an empty period on the day you are busy.
3. Release the pointer to save the block. Blades saves calendar changes automatically.

Drag the middle of a block to move it. Drag its top or bottom edge to change its start or end time. Use its **Delete busy time** button to remove it.

If a save fails, Blades shows an error and restores the saved calendar. Check the block before leaving the page.

## Use the form for precise times or repeating commitments

Open **Add busy time** above the calendar.

1. Set the start and end dates and times. Use separate dates for a commitment that runs overnight.
2. For an all-day commitment, turn on **All day**. The **Through** date is included, so Monday through Wednesday blocks all three days.
3. Turn on **Repeat** if needed. Choose daily, weekly, monthly or yearly repetition and an interval. For example, every 2 weeks.
4. Choose whether repetition ends after a number of occurrences, on a date or never.
5. Add optional **Notes** and save the form.

The repeat interval and occurrence count each accept values from 1 to 100. Use an end date for term-time commitments so they do not continue into the holidays.

<Note>
  Organisers can see busy-time notes when planning with crew availability. Add only the context they need, such as "lecture" or "away".
</Note>

## Change one occurrence or the whole series

Moving, resizing or deleting a repeating block directly on the week view changes that occurrence. The rest of the repeating series stays in place.

To edit the series, open the busy block and choose its edit action. The form changes the original repeating commitment. Changing its repeat pattern also clears previously skipped dates, so check any exceptions afterwards.

The delete action in the details dialog deletes the saved commitment, including its repeating series. Use the calendar block's delete button when you only want to remove one occurrence.

All-day blocks and blocks spanning several days cannot be dragged or resized on the week view. Open their details and use the form instead.

## Sessions on your calendar

Assigned sessions appear alongside your personal busy time. These commitments come from the session and cannot be moved or deleted as personal availability. Open the session to read it, and contact the organiser if its time no longer works for you.

## Time and display settings

The scheduling calendar uses London time, including the change between GMT and British Summer Time. Check the displayed dates and times when planning around a clock change or travelling abroad.

If a commitment is outside the visible hours, adjust your [calendar display settings](/account/calendars#change-the-calendar-display).
